YOUNGprofessionalscouncil

Mission Statement:

To form a unified group of younger donors and supporters across the United States as an extension of Helpusadopt.org. The primary goal of this Council is to spread the mission of Helpusadopt.org to the adoption community and beyond, while at the same time allowing the members to connect with

like-minded colleagues in order to support and grow our adoption community at large.

Matthew Plotner

Founder and Creative Director of Beyond Measure Custom, Matthew Samir Plotner dresses discerning individuals in clothing tailored for life’s most special moments. Prior to his entrepreneurial launch, Plotner spent 15 years in the rarified world of bespoke and Made-to-Measure tailored clothing, directing and leading multi-million dollar global businesses at Ralph Lauren and Paul Stuart. Plotner brings his business development acumen to the HelpUsAdopt Young Professional Council. Adopted himself as an orphan from Kolkata, Matthew hopes to help connect hopeful families through the HelpUsAdopt mission to provide loving homes for vulnerable children around the globe.

Kim Stern

Kim has been passionate about advocating for children and families since graduating from Law school in 2009. She began her legal career as an adoption attorney and then moved to the court side focusing mostly on abuse and neglect cases. Bringing this dedication to Helpusadopt.org is an exciting new venture, as nothing is more special to Kim than family.

Heather Stohler

Heather Stohler is a Philadelphia area adoptive mom of one sassy and beautiful boy. She grew up in the greater Philadelphia region in a blended family as the oldest of four siblings. She has worked in the nonprofit field for the last decade, first as a fundraiser in the arts and entertainment industry and currently as a philanthropic advisor for a private family. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Saint Joseph's University, and a Master of Science in Public Policy from Drexel University. She serves as Treasurer of the Board for the Upper Merion Mothers Club. The Stohlers are avid foodies and will never pass up a good food truck festival. When her nose isn't stuck in a book, Heather can often be found running, on a hike, or at the top of a rock wall.

Ryan Young

Ryan is a marketing professional helping to get political candidates across the nation elected to office. He started his career in the legal sector in Oklahoma where he successfully helped grow some of Oklahoma’s top firms. Ryan believes in creating a more equitable world both in his professional and personal life. He is dedicated to criminal justice reform, training up and coming leaders, and fighting for equality. He believes that adoption opens doors for all people and is excited to serve on this Council to garner involvement from younger professionals. In his downtime, he loves spending time with his husband, Devin, and working on their side business to bring sustainable clothing options to consumers.
